Jason McFarland, DVM
Dr. Jason McFarland is a 1997 Cum Laude graduate of Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, he completed a medicine and surgery internship at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Over the last 15 years, Dr. McFarland has practiced on both large and small animals alike. He has a special interest in orthopedics and has completed additional courses in ASIF and TPLO certification. He and his wife, Michelle, have been married 14 years and have two beautiful daughters. Their extended family includes 2 pugs named Maya and Eve. Dr. McFarlands free time is spent serving the Lord, fishing, camping, and family fun.
Michelle McFarland, DVM
Dr. Michelle McFarland is also a graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a part-time veterinarian at the animal hospital and a full-time mom to their two little girls. Michelles areas of special interest include dermatology and feline medicine. Her free-time is spent with the family camping, playing games, cooking, and bike riding.
Blair McCurdy, DVM
Dr. Blair McCurdy was born and raised in Richardson, TX. She grew up around the field of veterinary medicine as she watched her mother practice as a small animal veterinarian. Dr. McCurdy’s love and passion for animals started from a young age, and she is so excited to start her career as a veterinarian. She attended Texas A&M University for her undergraduate studies, graduating Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. Dr. McCurdy recently received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University in 2017. Her special interests include preventative medicine, dentistry, dermatology, and surgery. Blair married her husband Alex in 2015, and they enjoy spending time with their family, friends, and their sweet Pit Bull mix, Jovie.
Steve Velling, DVM
Dr. Velling is a 1992 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine from the University of California- Davis. He currently lives with his wife, Carrie, in Cypress, TX. For 15 years, he owned Ashburn Village Animal Hospital in Northern Virginia. Most recently, he worked for the State Department to develop and implement a program overseeing the care and transport of the world’s largest overseas Bomb Dog division. Outside of veterinary medicine, he has volunteered his time in a number of ways including coaching water polo and serving in the Peace Corps. He enjoys traveling, the outdoors, sports, and spending time with his wife and two daughters when they are home from college.

Sarah is from Houston and joined the CAHW team back in November 2010. She has four dogs in her family, including Pixie, Mighty, Lola and Cheech, a cat named Little B, and rounds out her four legged crew with 4 horses. She also has 2 snakes named Pablo and Snakeman, In her spare time she enjoys riding horses and running with her pups!

Kristi was born and raised in Hockley. She married her husband Kevin in 2008 and was blessed with a step-son, Luke, a daughter, Paisley, and a son, Braxton. They also have 2 dogs Scooter and Dot, as well as 5 horses. She spends her spare time watching their children do Youth Ranch Rodeos and Playdays. Kristi enjoys riding horses and spending time with her family.
Caterina lives in the Cypress area with her two sons, Landon and Mason, her 4 dogs, 6 mustangs, 2 cats, and a goat. She enjoys working in the Veterinary field and has over 20 years experience. Most of her spare time is spent gardening and working on her farm with her boys and four legged family.
Raised in Cypress, Texas, Paige now resides in Waller with her husband and daughter. She has 3 dogs, Miller, Buddy, and Cooder as well as several chickens. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Animal Science. Paige has worked in the veterinary field since 2006. She enjoys spending time with her family and riding horses.
Ashley was born and raised in Texas and currently lives in the Hockley area. She has 3 dogs named Domino, Izzy, and Finn and a Cockatiel named Oscar. Apart from working and being a full-time Veterinary Technology student, Ashley spends her spare time with her pups and family. She also enjoys singing country music and playing the guitar.
Rocky grew up in Willis, Texas. After graduating high school, he joined the Marine Corps and ended his service after 4 years. He now lives in Hockley and joined the Companion team in January 2017. He has a huge German Shepherd Wolf mix named Rico. In his spare time he like to play pool and hangout with friends. He also enjoys all of the activities that the outdoors provides.
Leidi moved to Waller when she was 5 years old from Tamaulipas, Mexico. She studied Veterinary Technology at Lone Star College. She has two dogs, Turbo and Chico, and a small chicken farm. Leidi loves being surrounded by animals and adventuring the outdoors.
